H&M
The company is going all-in on sustainable cotton, is seeking to cut impact through its Conscious Collection. Bring used clothing of any brand to an H&M store for recycling, and you’ll receive a coupon for your next purchase (coupon provided for every bag donated). And those duds are actually put to good use: This year, H&M launched its first line of products made from the fibers of collected garments.
Boathouse
Each time aTenTree item is purchased, ten trees are planted. The purchaser can even track the trees they planted to see how they are making a real-world difference.
American Eagle
You can drop off your old shoes or clothing into the recycling box at the store and get $5 off your next pair of jeans.
Bell
You can return your old phone to Bell for recycling through the Bell blue box program. This program provides Canadians with an environmentally responsible way of disposing of their used mobile phones. Bell will donate net proceeds from the program to the Canadian Mental Health Association as part of the national Bell Let’s Talk mental health initiative. The Bell blue box program is part of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association’s Recycle My Cell program, which aims to minimize the amount of e-waste entering Canada’s landfills.
Best Buy
For starters, you can snag a $2 coupon for every empty ink cartridge you recycle at Best Buy, and when it’s time to replace your printer, you’ll receive 15 percent off a new model if you recycle your old one in the store. The retailer often offers rotating recycling rewards for certain items.
Best Buy also partners with e-Cycle Solutions and Call2Recycle to accept a large number of used electronics. A full listing of accepted items resides on their website.
EB GAMES
Shoppers can visit EB Games to trade-in their old video games and systems for credit towards the latest games, consoles and gear! Over 7,000 products are accepted in trade. A full listing of accepted products is available on the EB Games website.
TELUS
If your mobile device is not eligible for the TELUS Trade-In Program, TELUS can recycle it for you. When you bring your old cell phone, tablet, battery or other accessories to TELUS, we ensure that they are recycled responsibly.
TBOOTH
Tbooth offers a trade-in program which allows you to trade in a used Acceptable Device in exchange (the “Trade”) for an immediately useable in-store credit at a participating Wireless Wave, Tbooth, or Samsung Experience Store.

Aldo is currently performing a number of tasks/initiatives to ensure a Greener tomorrow. These include: reducing greenhouse gasses, enforcing ethical sourcing, offering responsible leather, store recycling& supporting “Group’s Garden”, which offer workshops and supports local farmers.

All plastic bags and boxes are made from recycled materials.
Sunglass Hut
Sunglass Hut accepts used sunglasses and prescription eyewear for the First Sight program. While this is not highly advertised, the organization has been accepting donations for a number of years.
The Body Shop
The Body Shop actively helps enrich the biodiversity where we grow our ingredients. They act and campaign to enrich and support threatened areas of outstanding natural value to the planet. By 2020 the Body Shop commits to build bio-bridges, protecting and regenerating 75 million square metres of habitat helping communities to live more sustainably. As a business that aims to be environmentally sustainable, protecting endangered habitats is vitally important to the Body Shop. The brand also plans to one day, power 100% of their stores with renewable or carbon balanced energy, reduce the environmental footprint of their stores every time they refurbish or redesign them, as well as ensure that 70% of their total product packaging does not contain fossil fuels.
MAC
MAC was one of the first cosmetics companies to offer a take-back program for its packaging through the Back to MAC program. Shoppers can receive a free MAC lipstick of their choice by recycling six packaging items (such as empty compacts or lotion bottles) at a MAC retail counter or via mail-back.
Purdy’s Chocolatier
Purdy’s Chocolatier offers sustainable cocoa farming practices, is involved in biodiversity and habitat preservation, soil management, and waterway protection.
Tim Hortons
Shoppers receive a 10% discount when they bring TimMug or another travel mug to the store.
Subway
Subway was awarded in environmental leadership, efficient in-restaurant operations, energy efficient, water conservation, waste reduction& eco-friendly packaging. Some eco-restaurant locations are even made from recycled stone, LED lights, etc.
Starbucks
Shoppers receive 10 cents off any beverage (except bottled or ready to drink) when they bring in a personal cup or their reusable cup.A customer can also replace their branded reusable cup for $1 when it gets ‘grungy or stained’
